Twitter is particularly useful for keeping students invested in the class outside of class time. Here are some of the ways teachers can use Twitter in the classroom:
- Teachers can send out tweets with discussion topics and have the students respond to it and to each other’s responses.
- Teachers can send out tweets announcing due dates and reminders.
- Students can share notes with each other or ask questions about the course.
- Students can research by typing in key words and searching hash tags. Twitter’s search engine can scour its own site as well as many other parts of the Internet and aid in students’ research.
- Teachers can take polls and discover what students think about certain ideas or classroom policies.
